What IS that thing? (Take 2)

It's a ribbon bag, of course! Greg may think that "it's not much to look at..." (and if I'm honest, he's probably right), but it is so functional I am hoping that its functionality will outweigh its slightly crazy appearance. I now have all my ribbon in one, portable place, so wherever I may be, I WILL have what I need (and not have to buy more to add to this crazy collection!).

So you can buy a less-crazy looking version of one of these for about $20 online, but I decided to go the free route. I used one of those bags that pillow cases come in (and had already been holding some of my ribbon) and punched holes all over it. It did take me about an hour to do just that part, but again, it's free.

I then got out all my ribbon (prevoiusly threatening to burst out of a good-sized drawer) and organized it. I had a lot of short pieces in little tiny plastic bags and a lot of spools, too. I didn't unspool anything over 2 yards, otherwise it would have gotten too full. But I did take about a yard or two of each color of ribbon - because you never know when you might need a yard of peach satin ribbon! (Just kidding, I threw that one away!)

Then, starting at the bottom, I threaded the ends of the ribbon through the little holes. I did try to do them in color order, but it isn't perfect...and I'm ok with that. My other great hope with this project is that it doesn't turn into one big rats nest in there as soon as I start pulling pieces out to use. :)

I love it! It's way crazy, but doesn't look bad at all! Can't wait to see it in real life...don't know if I'll be having the patience to make my own any time soon. We'll see.
